Roman Find: glass beaker

Part of the rim of a glass beaker which has been decorated by cutting out oval-shaped facets from the surface of the glass.

Are the oval shapes cut out, or moulded into the glass? I have seen quite a bit of moulded Roman glass - and some cut and engraved examples too, but they are much rarer I believe.

The oval-shaped decoration has been cut out from the surface of the glass.
