15 and 16 July 2006 10:30am - 4:00pm

The Amphitheatre will once again be brought to life by spectacular Roman gladiatorial combat and military displays. There will be an opportunity to see the excavation in progress, talk to the archaeologists, join a guided tour and take part in a number of hands-on activities, such as a mini-dig for children and trying on replica armour.

How is work progressing this year? Any new discoveries? The newsletter is very nice but it was written before this year's excavations started, and those of us who can't travel to Chester but like to follow progress via this website would appreciate the ocasional update. It doesn't have to be about stunning new finds, just a line or two about the day-to-day work on the site.
The webcam is sorely missed too!

Wow, it looks busy there - and great fun - on that tiny webcam picture! Wish I could be there... Please put some pictures of the day's activities on the website, won't you?
